Claverdon keep up unbeaten Midlands Four West (South) start with comfortable win at Chaddesley Corbett
CLAVERDON continued their unbeaten start to the season, as a strong first-half showing propelled them to a comfortable 36-0 win at Chaddesley Corbett on Saturday.
The Lions got off to a fast start through Sam Turrell’s opening try and James Williams’ conversion to put the score at 7-0.
Claverdon continued to play expansively and two further tries in quick succession from flanker Charlie Byrd and fly-half James Williams put the visitors in control.
The game then became a scrappy affair, but Claverdon did manage to score once more before half-time.
A tap penalty from Ben Husthwaite, followed by quick passing down the line, resulted in Josh Evans crossing in the corner to give Claverdon a 22-0 lead at the break.
Chaddesley came out a much-improved side after the break but Claverdon were soon back scoring when Hilton Garner-Jones scored under the posts.
Turrell would then score his second try and the final of the match.
