IT was raining goals in the Stratford Alliance Nursing Home Cup at the weekend, with the net being found 34 times across eight second-round ties.
There was an eight-goal thriller at Tysoe Playing Field where AFC Bromsgrove got the better of Tysoe United 5-3, thanks to goals from Daniel Hanson, Dominic Martin, Ryan Blake, Owen Fisher and substitute Brigen Beqi.
Sean Adkins, Thomas Dyble and Tom Gardener scored for Tysoe.
Shipston Excelsior Reserves breezed into the next round as they ran out emphatic 6-0 winners over Inkberrow Academy while Freddie Burns’ strike was enough to hand AFC Alcester Town a 1-0 success at home to Bearley United.
There was penalty shoot-out heartache for FISSC Reserves as they lost 4-3 on spot-kicks to Meadow Park.
Both sides had been locked at 3-3 after 90 minutes, with Tomas Archer (2) and Sam Roberts on target for FISSC.
Claverdon Reserves are safely through after they enjoyed a 3-1 victory over Shottery United while Blockley United won by a similar scoreline at Bretforton Old Boys.
Jack Cardy (2) and Javan Nurse netted for visiting Blockley.
Benjamin Burdock’s first-half double handed Blockley a 2-0 victory over Central Ajax Reserves.
Meanwhile, AFC Stratford are the other team through to the last eight after they edged out Badsey Rangers 2-1.
