Home start can drive new-look Alcester

NEW manager Danny Janes wants Alcester Town to make the most of their home advantage to get off to a flying start for the 2016-17 season.
Janes, who has taken over from James Robbins, says new-look Town need to be positive as they start with three homes in a row.
They begin with a visit by Barwell side NKF Burbage, making their debut at this level, on Saturday and then entertain Coventrians next Saturday before a Les James Memorial Challenge Cup first round clash with Boldmere Sports and Social.
Janes said: “It’s great to have three home games in a row and we need to take advantage.
“It’s tough league and we know we have to set high standards.
“Playing Burbage will be a really strong test. They have won promotion in four out of the last six seasons so they are used to winning. We need to switched on from the start.”
Janes’ reign started with a 4-2 defeat to Feckenham Reserves on Tuesday but he continues to look to bolster his squad after targeting midfielder Kelvin White and defender Ashley Bunn, who both played alongside Janes at Feckenham.
