Home county Vase ties for Alcester and Earlswood

FOOTBALL

ALCESTER Town and Earlswood Town have been handed home ties in the second round of the Birmingham Saturday Vase.

Alcester will entertain fellow Midland League Division Three side Coventrians at Stratford Road in the tie to be played on Saturday, 17 November. The red and blacks progressed last weekend with a 6-0 win at Central Ajax but Coventrians were also among the goals after defeating Dunlop 8-1.

Earlswood, who were the first round’s biggest winners after crushing Silhill 9-0, will be at home to Coventry Alliance side AEI Rugby. AEI produced one of the round’s surprises by knocking out Midland League side Leamington Hibernian.

Stratford Alliance side Henley Forest of Arden, who had a first-round bye, will also be on home turf after being paired with Coventry Colliery, who play in the Coventry Alliance Premier.
