High speed thrills for all the family

MORE than 400 of the UK’s leading drivers will head to Stratford next weekend for the most spectacular event in the national autograss calendar.

Evesham Autograss Club will host the Power Maxed Men’s Nationals Championship at the John Wilkin Raceway, the club’s Dodwell home for over 40 years, on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th August when 440 competitors are expected to challenge for the honours after regional qualifiers established the top 40 drivers in each of the 11 classes.

“This is a unique opportunity to spectate at what is one of the most fast-paced oval motorsports in the UK,” explained club spokesman Matt Stratton.

“There will be a wide range of race cars on track, from the classic Mini all the way up to 220bhp specifically designed single-seater motorbike powered vehicles and monster V8 mini pickups.

“Autograss is a sport for all ages with many additional entertainments for the younger spectators and a friendly atmosphere. It will be an amazing weekend of high-octane action”.

Racing starts at 9.30am on both days with the grand finals on Sunday afternoon.
