Hickman urges Stratford 2nds to erase frustration
STRATFORD 2nds must forget about their frustration from last week’s draw when they entertain Barnards Green tomorrow, says captain Josh Hickman.
Despite centuries for Yasser Sirdar and Andy Fisher and reaching 347-5 in another excellent batting display at Sutton Coldfield, Stratford could not knock over the final four Sutton wickets.
Hickman says Stratford need to build on the positives to face Barnards Green at Swans Nest Lane.
Despite slipping to fourth in the Birmingham League Second XI South, they lie three points behind Bromsgrove and 14 points behind second-placed Berkswell.
"It was very frustrating not to get the win, but in the end it proved to be a very flat wicket and we still managed to get 16 valuable points,” said Hickman,
“I thought that once again we batted brilliantly, Sirdar and Fisher were exceptional and they have been our standout performers with the bat over the last couple of weeks. Sirdar in particular has worked hard and completely deserves his call up back into the First XI.
“There were a number of chances that if we had taken might have made a difference, but we didn't really have any luck throughout the innings.”
