Hawker lands Herald award at presentation evening

STRATFORD Town midfielder Josh Hawker has been crowned the Herald’s player of the season at the club’s glitzy awards night at the Crowne Plaza.

The annual award goes to the player with the most ‘star man’ performances over the entire campaign and the former Leamington and Solihull Moors player was the clear winner.

Defender Chris Hussey had led the way for the first half of the season but his move to Hednesford Town where he teamed up with former Stratford Town manager Gavin Hurren, allowed Hawker to sweep to victory ahead of fellow midfielders Lewis Ison, Tom Solanke and Jack Storer.
