Guest ride for Tinsley in Belgium
LEWIS Tinsley took part in the opening round of the 2024 road race season – the Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne event in Belgium – as a guest rider for Team Zappi.
The Stratford Cycling Club member finished 30th in the junior men’s category and was the third British rider home out of 149 starters who tackled the 122 km race over a challenging terrain that included cobbled sections, short climbs and narrow roads.
The race serves as a stepping stone for young cyclists aspiring to make a mark in the competitive world of professional cycling.
The two newest signings to the Stratford-based Team Enable-MI Racing made a great start in the opening round of the Welsh cross-country mountain bike series.
Held at the Royal Welsh Showground, in Builth Wells, sisters Holly and Layla Bradbrook tackled the tough, muddy conditions more suited to cyclo-cross racing.
Layla, the current Welsh junior champion, took first place in her race with older sister Holly, riding her first season at elite level, finishing third in her race.
The next round of the championships will be held on the 28th April.
Teammate Oliver Seale had an excellent start to the racing season when he finished second in the Kettering CC Hilly Open Time Trial.
The 20-mile route to the northeast of Kettering was raced in near freezing conditions and Searle time of 47m 15s saw him finish just under four minutes behind current British 10-mile road bike time trial record holder George Fox.
Greg Ashley, another Team Enable-MI Racing, finished ninth in the road bike category with a time of 57m 39s.
