Michael Clea, 34, who plays off 23, and 16-handicapper Andrew Thornton, 48, placed first and second at the event, one of a series of nationwide tournaments organised by the Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) and QHotels, the UK’s largest golf resort operator.

The ‘Road to Morocco’series encompasses all 11 of QHotels’ golf resorts with 22 member events, for both men and women – with each winner being entered into a draw to win a trip to Morocco.

The pair has now been entered into a draw which will see two lucky competition winners from the series – one male, one female – win a four-night Moroccan golf holiday for two people, with flights included.

But as the Hellidon Lakes ladies’ competition winner was happy to pass her place in the draw to men’s runner-up Thornton, he too has the opportunity to win the much-coveted golf trip.
