Success for for St Gregory's Primary School at the English Schools' Swimming Association National Primary Championships held at Sheffield’s Ponds Forge
It was a spectacular day for St Gregory's Primary School at the English Schools' Swimming Association (ESSA) National Primary Championships held at Sheffield’s Ponds Forge on Saturday.
Representing their school, swimmers Alex Scott, Alexa Wilson, Daniel Truscott and Mollie Gillam showcased their talent and determination against the best teams from other small schools across the country.
The young athletes, who also swim for Stratford Sharks, qualified for the B Finals in both of their relay events, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and skill.
In a thrilling finale, they surprised all their competitors by clinching victory in both B final relays.
Their outstanding performances earned them impressive rankings of ninth place overall in England for small schools in freestyle; fourth place among small state schools (out of 12); eighth place overall in England for small schools in the medley and second place among small state schools (out of 12).
This remarkable achievement highlights the dedication and hard work of these talented swimmers.
