Girls squad step up to Worcester challenge
ROWING
STRATFORD Boat Club’s youngsters proved their winter training has served them well by producing gold and silver medal performances at the Worcester Head of the River on the River Seven.
Despite difficult conditions over the 6km course, the WJ16 – the girls under-16s squads – impressed.
After five months of a gruelling winter training programme (six days each week on and off the water), their work rate and skill was impressive.
The coxless quadruple sculling boat of Mimi Hill, Talei Dunn, Autumn Keil and Molly Gill-Swift finished in second place in their age category.
The coxed four of Katie Wellstead, Jessica Wiesheu, Khloe Curnock, and Emily Browne, coxed by Matilda Watts competed in an adult category but ended up winners.
