SEANIN Gilmore produced a world class display as she finished seventh in her age group at the 2018 Fyn ITU Duathlon World Championships.

Gilmore was competing for Ireland and represented Warwickshire triathlon team Do3 at the competition which was raced over a 9.42km run, 34km bike and final 5.11km run.

The accomplished athlete completed the duathlon with a total time of 2.07.58.

She placed number seven in the world in her age group and added to a notable season of wins, personal bests and podium places.

In the UK, Jemima Cooper, who is trained by Do3’s head coach Dave Knight in her bid to gain professional status, raced The Gauntlet, a middle distance triathlon at Hever Castle.

Made up of a 1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21km run, she completed the race in 5.49.47 and bagged a fourth position in her age group and a place in the top 20 female racers.

Fellow Do3 athlete Izzy Rayner smashed the Worthing Sprint Triathlon, an ETU Sprint Qualifier event and secured her place at the World Finals set to take place in Russia next year.

“I am very proud of all of the team that raced at the weekend,” said Do3 head coach, Dave Knight.

“It’s so gratifying to see the results from the hard work, perseverance and tenacity that these guys put in, they have clearly proven they are world-class.”
