Gaydon glory for Vale and Good

DICK Vale and Stewart Good were crowned Gaydon Trophy champions at Stratford-on-Avon Golf Club last weekend.

Vale and Good edged out Steve Righton and Paul Knighton in the final.

The matchplay pairs’ trophy is one of the most sought after at the club with its history of having been presented by the Officers’ Mess from RAF Gaydon 60 years ago.

The competition started in October, where 60 pairs competed in mini leagues, with the winners from each pool progressing to a straight knockout format after Christmas.

Meanwhile, the club also held the first Medal of the season with 137 entrants.
