LIAM Francis and Edwin Ahenkorah are the latest players to commit themselves to Stratford Town for the 2018/19 Southern League Premier Central season.

Centre-back Francis appeared to have left Stratford earlier this month, with Rugby Town announcing he was going to join them.

But the 28-year-old is now preparing for a fourth season at Knights Lane after a late change of heart.

It's another coup for new manager Darren Byfield, who also persuaded Mike Taylor to stay at Stratford despite interest from his old boss Carl Adams.

With Town losing Ben Stephens to Macclesfield Town, the commitment of Ahenkorah comes as welcome news for the club.

Supporters will be hoping the livewire forward, who signed from Redditch in 2015, can recapture his best form following a series of knee injuries.
