Chippenham lie fourth in the table, but also lie just 90 minutes from the FA Cup first round proper.

The Bluebirds, one of three Southern Premier sides left in the Cup, have been drawn at home to face Vanarama National League South side Maidstone United in the fourth and final qualifying round next Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the game, Town boss Carl Adams called for more consistency from his own players.

“The consistency level just isn’t there but I don’t think for a minute that I am the only manager in the league to say we need some consistency,” said Adams.

“You just need to look at the league to see the proof of that. Seventy-five per cent of the teams have won four games and lost four. It’s so tight.

“If any team can get that consistent run of results, they will soon go up the league. But if you get a run of defeats you can soon slide down the table.”
