Flying start propels Town to victory over Histon

Soon after Simeon Tulloch saw his header skim the bar, and as Stratford continued to have the better of the possession they doubled their lead on 21 minutes.

Michael McGrath was brought down on the edge of the penalty area by Histon skipper Rogan McGeorge and McGrath picked himself up to drill the free-kick into the bottom corner.

And Stratford could have added a third on the half-hour mark when Tyrone Fagan threaded the ball through to Sheldon, but his shot lacked the power to beat Histon keeper Denzel Gerrar.

Desperate to get back into the game, Histon made a triple substitution at the interval and for the first 15 minutes of the second half they were certainly more lively with Matty Allan going close with a diving header and Evan Key with a thunderous effort from distance.

Carl Adams sent on Mark Magee for his much-anticipated debut with 20 minutes to go and by then Histon had run out of ideas as Stratford comfortably saw the game out to secure their 11th win of the season.
