First home defeat for Town

Though Cambridge visitors Histon looked lively early on at the DCS Stadium, Carl Adams' men struck first through striker Edwin Ahenkorah on 31 minutes.

The former Redditch man created room after twisting in from the right and lashed home his fifth goal of the season.

But the sides went into half-time level as Histon's Sam Ives, who had earlier hit the bar with a header, netted from a Nick Freeman cross.

Stratford could not regain the initiative in a disappointing second half and Histon took the points with a goal from Tom McGowan on 66 minutes.

The result means Histon jump into 11th place in the Southern Premier table above Stratford, who fall to 15th.

Adams' men will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they entertain Biggleswade at the DCS, kick-off 7.45pm.
