FC Stratford boss Ballinger looks to add experience to squad
NICK Ballinger is hoping to add some experienced heads to ensure the youngsters of FC Stratford can continue their football progress.
Stratford will be seeking a third win in a row on Saturday when they entertain Northfield Town in Midland League Division Two.
The visitors, however, lie third and boss Ballinger admits it will be a real examination of how Stratford’s group of teenagers can cope. To that end, he is working on bringing two experienced players to enhance the squad.
“Northfield are a good side, they are a good footballing side and strong physically,” said Ballinger. “It will be a big test for our young lads.
“They’re 16, 17, 18 and it was always going to be a challenge stepping into men’s football, physically, tactically and mentally.
“But we’ve played some good football and grown in confidence and clarity. It’s good to see how we are progressing.”
With a twist of the fixture list, Stratford will face Northfield again at Knights Lane next Saturday in a Presidents Cup tie.
