Shipston Excelsior edge out Stratford Alliance champions FC Wickhamford




BACK-to-back champions FC Wickhamford concluded their league campaign with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Shipston Excelsior.

Despite tasting just their third loss of the season, Wick were still all smiles after the match as they lifted the Stratford Alliance Division One trophy. Jake Bradley and Oliver Thorn got the goals for Excelsior.

FISSC Reserves moved a step closer towards the Walls & Ceilings Division Two title as goals from Dino De Angelis (2) and Glen Matthew guided them to a 3-1 win away at AFC Stratford.

However, Meadow Park remain in the hunt after they recorded a 4-2 victory over Badsey Rangers thanks to braces from Connor Powell and substitute Brooklyn Smith.

Fifth-placed Meadow are 22 points behind leaders FISSC, but have played eight games fewer.

Inkberrow Academy came from a goal down to beat basement boys Blockley 3-1.

Harvey Francis had fired Blockley into a 1-0 lead at the break, before second-half goals from Adrian McNally (2) and Andrew Oxley secured the points for the hosts.

Meanwhile, Claverdon Reserves claimed their biggest winning margin of the campaign as they thumped second-bottom Bearley United 7-0.
