Eloise shines as Do3 up the pace

WARWICKSHIRE triathlon squad Do3 upped their endurance last weekend by taking part in various middle and full distance triathlon competitions across Europe.

Professional triathlete and Stratford-based Eloise du Luart was in Lahti, Finland for Ironman 70.3 Finland. which comprised a 1.9 km swim, 90km bike and 21.1km run.

She completed the swim in 30.41, the cycle in 2.31.34 and the run in 1.35.01.

Fellow Do3 squad members John Taplin and Yusuf Ibrahim-Zai were in Austria for the 2018 Ironman Austria-Kärnten.

The full distance triathlon was raced over a 3.86km lake swim, 180.25km bike through the mountains and finished with a 42.20km run. Ibrahim-Zai stormed to the finish with a time of 10.23.14.

Back at home, Peter Wharton and Ben Phyall from Wellesbourne represented Do3 in Scotland at the 2018 Ironman 70.3 Edinburgh.

This covered a 1.9km swim, 90km bike and 21.1km run against the historic backdrop of the city of Edinburgh. Phyall finished in 5.38.18, with Wharton completing the 70.3km distance in 5.52.39.

Stratford’s Paul Nash was in winning form again at St Neots Triathlon. He raced the standard distance course made up of a 1.5km swim, 45km bike and 10km run, in 3.11.07 and took second place in his age group.
