Jan Spalding and Becky Babbage will be among a group of around 20 cyclists setting off from the town shortly before the field of international riders on Saturday.

The lead out group will consist of cyclists, community initiatives and other local representatives.

Spalding said: “This is a real honour. Cycling has become an important part of my life both in terms of fitness and meeting new friends.

Babbage added: “I can’t wait. I’m a fairly new cyclist. My dad used to race so he got me into cycling during the first lockdown.”
