Do3 triathletes bag Marlow podium spots
WARWICKSHIRE'S pre-eminent triathlon squad, Do3, stormed the Marlow duathlon and aquathlon over the weekend with three of the squad taking podium positions.
In the middle distance aquabike, a 1.9km swim and 90km bike Jamie Chatfield was first overall completing the race in 3.02.09, with Andrew White taking third place in a time of 3.18.33.
John Wrottesley, a GB age group athlete from Moreton Morrell, followed over the line one second after to take fourth position overall. Natasha Chandler also completed the race in an impressive 3.45.51, finishing in the top ten of the female category.
Seanin Gilmore, Ireland age group athlete, was the overall winning female in the duathlon event made up of a 5km run, 40km bike a final 10km run.
Bishop’s Itchington’s Corinne Moss was again in peak performance and placed as third female overall at the Leeds Castle Triathlon. She completed the Olympic distance 1.5km swim in 26.04.32, 40km bike 1.16.17 and 10km run in 43.52.
Katie Summer completed her first Olympic distance triathlon in Birmingham, while Jason Robbins and Joe Lee raced the Centurion Triathlon in Hertfordshire.
Stratford’s Jason Robbins raced the 100km event made up of a 2km swim, 82km bike and 16km run.
Joe Lee, of Lower Quinton, took on the 100m centurion race over a 1.25mile swim, 84m bike and 15m run, completing the event in 7.27.57 and claiming third position in his age group.
“The squad ripped up the results book yet again,” said Do3 head coach, Dave Knight.
“It seems the more we race the more determined we get.
“The seasoned athletes are seeing their training pay off on the podium and those who are new to the sport are seeing magnificent results and already wanting to push for more.
“Corinne again excelled and the team at Marlow were well and truly flying the Do3 flag.
“We remain indebted to all of our sponsors including Everyone Active in Stratford, Warwick and Solihull who go the extra mile by enabling us to swim at 6am during the week.”
