PERRY Derrick produced a superb all-round performance as Stratford enjoyed a winning start to their Birmingham Premier League Division Two season at Old Elizabethans.

Making his debut for the club after signing from Redditch, the off spinner hit an unbeaten 51 from 47 balls to help Stratford finish strongly to post 211 for eight.

Derrick then took centre stage with the ball, taking three for 44 as OEs fell 21 runs short at 190.

Skipper Mike Brown (2-30), Tom Grundy (2-34) and James Urquhart (2-20) were also among the wickets as the promoted Panthers enjoyed a promising start to life in division two.

Stratford 2nds’ game against Dorridge was abandoned on Friday because of heavy rain at Swans Nest Lane.
