Tidbury Green School pupil Darsh Santosh wins Earlswood Town kit competition
EARLSWOOD Town will take to the pitch this season in a kit designed by an 11-year-old from Tidbury Green School.
Darsh Santosh’s design was voted the stand-out by the Earls’ players and staff following a competition run in conjunction with the primary school.
From hundreds of entries across all classes, teachers whittled designs down to a shortlist of ten.
Pupils were encouraged to be as creative as possible while sticking with the club’s traditional red and white home colours.
Darsh’s classic red and white striped design with black trim was a clear winner and will now be donned by the Earls for the forthcoming 2022-23 Midland League Division Two season.
Earlswood chairman Andy Walker surprised Darsh with news of his winning entry, as well as an invite to lead the team out as mascot for a forthcoming match at The Pavilions during a recent school assembly.
All other nine finalists were also handed certificates as well as receiving a rousing reception from their fellow pupils.
He said: “Our thanks goes to all at Tidbury Green School for embracing this unique competition. The standard of designs blew us all away and the players are really looking forward to taking to the pitch next season in Darsh’s own design.”
The final kit, to be supplied by Moving Forward Sports, will be fully unveiled in the coming weeks.
