Community initiative boost to bowls club

MEMBERSHIP of Avon Bowls Club is thriving and the link to its community bowls initiative is unmistakable when large numbers of members and visitors meet each Tuesday and Thursday afternoon throughout the summer for a recreational game of bowls.

For those wishing to experience the game for the first time, community bowls is the route. It’s informal and, for a small fee, equipment, tea and biscuits are all provided together with the coaching led by Maggie Hosking and supported by Derek Ridley and Colin Jarvis.
