WELLESBOURNE BC were honoured to welcome the New Zealand and Canadian Commonwealth Games bowls squads to their green last week.
The Kiwis got in some preparation on UK soil at Loxley Close on Wednesday (20th July) and Thursday (21st July), and a special five ends was given to Rena Mackenzie who helped organise the invitation.
The highlight of the New Zealand visit was the haka they performed in front of club members.
Then on Friday (22nd July), having made a late flight, the Canadian men’s and women’s teams came to the club.
The lawn and para lawn bowls are being held at Victoria Park in Leamington and it gets under way on Friday morning.
