Stratford Town Colts enjoy a super Saturday of results in Mid-Warwickshire League and Ambassador Evesham League




AFTER the disappointment of England’s World Cup draw with USA the night before, Stratford Town Colts celebrated a super Saturday in two junior leagues.

In the Mid-Warwickshire League, the U9s, managed by Hus Gurdag, faced a tricky match against Nuneaton Borough at Knights Lane but a dominant half-time display helped the team come away with a fine win.

Mark Gascoyne-Davis’ U11s came from behind to defeat Norton Lindsey, while the U12s, led by Tom Sidwell, shared the spoils with a strong Coventry City Sky Blues in the Community side.

In the Ambassador Evesham League, James Shearman-Payne’s U8s side put in a swashbuckling second-half display to come from behind and blow away Inkberrow Academy.

Meanwhile, the U15s, managed by Daf Goddard and Daz Costello, moved up to fourth place with a comfortable 7-1 victory over previously unbeaten league leaders Shipston Excelsior.
