Chambers named Alcester Town's player of the month

ALCESTER Town manager Danny Janes saluted Matthew Chambers as one of the best technical players in the league after being named the club’s player of the month for August and September.
Midfielder Chambers took the accolade after winning most votes from players, staff and directors at the Midland League Division Three club.
He started six games, scoring twice, and being named man-of-the-match twice.
“Matt has had an immense start to the season. His performances in midfield have been superb, as well as his performances when slotting into right-back,” said Janes.
“Technically he is one of the best in the league; his passing ability is up there with the best. He loves a tackle and he sets the tone in games. It is great to have a player of his presence in the side. His attitude has also been spot on,
“He has become a senior figure in the squad and one that the players look up to. I hope he can continue his form into this month as he is a big player for the club.”
Meanwhile, Alcester have added to their ranks by signing much-travelled forward Stuart Hall from Fairfield Villa.
The striker was a team-mate of Janes at Feckenham but his CV also includes spells at Halesowen Town, Malvern Town, Littleton, Pershore Town and Bromsgrove Sporting.
After Saturday’s 3-0 home win against Continental Star, Alcester are unbeaten in six matches and head to Coton Green this Saturday for a Smedley Crooke Memorial Cup tie.
