WARWICKSHIRE Bears 2nds' extended their winning streak to four games following a 44-40 victory over Plymouth Storm in the BWBL Third Division S&W on Sunday.

Bears were up against the only team that had beaten them in both fixtures last season, so they knew they were in for tough game from the tip-off.

The first quarter was a close affair with both teams' defence coming out on top and keeping the score low.

The second quarter was another tight affair with no team able to establish dominance, the visitors holding a slender 19-18 lead at half-time.

Bears edged themselves in front by one point in the third quarter, before sealing victory by four points in the fourth.

"That was a good win against a very good Storm side," said Bears' coach, Tom Masterson.

"They pushed us all the way to the end and anyone could have won it. I think that will turn out for be a very good win for us this season."

The Bears are back in action again this Sunday, with the first team taking on the Coyotes (GB women's team) and Bears' 2nds facing Worcester Wolves at Henley-in-Arden.

Meanwhile, the Bears are looking to recruit new members, especially female and junior players. Email info@bearswbc.com or telephone 07946 518354.
