Blues memorial game for Cody set to stretch emotions

DEFENDER Dan Vann admits emotions will be running high when Stratford Town take on Birmingham City in the first Cody Fisher memorial match next week.

A big crowd is expected for the game on Tuesday (18th July) with proceeds set to boost the fund set-up in the name of the former Bards player who died after being stabbed in a Birmingham nightclub last December.

Fisher began his career with Blues and personal friend Vann hopes the Championship side will attract plenty of interest.

He said: “Emotions are likely to be quite high on Tuesday but it’s a game we’re really looking forward to. Hopefully Blues will bring a few of their first team down and we can raise some money to go into the Cody fund.
