Bertie double bring Racers sweet success at Cadbury

TREA Bertie took his goals tally to 11 in 11 matches after netting a double in Racing Club Warwick’s 2-1 win at Cadbury Athletic.
Bertie’s first-half goals restored the second-placed Racers to winning ways after a loss and draw in their previous two games but the win keeps them within three points of leaders Atherstone Town.
Bertie opened the scoring on 31 minutes and made it 2-0 two minutes later. Cadbury replied in second-half injury time through Odane Barnes.
Sean Brain is in equally red-hot scoring from Studley, as his double in a 4-1 win at Brocton took his tally to eight in three games.
The Bees have won all three games too to move into eighth in the table.
Ex-Stourbridge player Brandon Hague also scored twice for Studley to cap off an excellent display. Alex Scott netted for the Badgers.
Improving Littleton earned a 2-2 draw at home to Paget Rangers after twice falling behind.
Littleton to close to five points the gap to Rocester above the relegation zone.
A Luke Rowlands penalty had made it 1-1, with Matt Irons equalising for a second time in added time.
Tomorrow, Racing Club begin their Birmingham Midweek Floodlit Cup campaign at home to Chelmsley Town. The Racers reached the final last season.
