ALL three Warwickshire Bears completed a hat-trick of wins in their latest British Wheelchair Basketball League matches at Henley-in-Arden.

The Bears’ first team claimed a 66-40 victory at home to CWBA 2nds, crucially hammering home their advantage in the third period as Dan Gill and Ben Haigh took advantage of their opportunities.

From the tip-off, both teams were on form with both teams going basket for basket in a shooting game.

The Bears edged 17-12 ahead at the end of the first quarter, but with Coventry playing a pressing game to stifle the Bears offence the score was 30-22 at half-time.

The third quarter was the major turning point in the game, when the Bears were able to find their free-flowing game and moved 48-28 in front.

The Bears used the last quarter to cement their victory plus give some much needed court time to their bench.

The Bears’ Second team recorded a 47-26 win against Cardiff Met Archers in Division Two South as their strength in depth proved crucial, while the Thirds also had the extra power in the latter stages to defeat CWBA 3rds 56-50.

The Bears are next in action when the Bears women’s team travel to Sheffield this weekend to take part in this season's BWB Women’s League after gaining promotion to Division Two last year.

The Bears are still looking for a sponsor for the team and also always looking to recruit new members, especially female and junior players. For more details, contact Bears at info@bearswbc.com or call 07946 518354.
