Stratford Town to begin 2022-23 Southern Premier Central season at home to new boys Bedford Town
STRATFORD Town will begin the 2022-23 Southern Premier Central season with a home game against newly-promoted Bedford Town, writes Harry Hibbert.
The Southern League Division One Central champions will head to the Arden Garages Stadium on Saturday, 6th August and this will be followed by the first away game of the season at St Ives Town on Saturday, 13th August.
Just two days later Dean Holdsworth’s charges are back on the road again, this time travelling to the TRICO Stadium to face Redditch United.
A return to home follows on Saturday, 20th August when Hednesford Town visit the Arden Garages Stadium before the Bards complete the month with a trip to Kings Langley, who return to the Premier Central after a season in the Premier South.
The Boxing Day fixture sees the Bards host Tamworth while on Monday, 2nd January they make the trip to Bromsgrove Sporting.
The season concludes on Saturday, 22nd April with an away day at new boys Basford United, who have been transferred from the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
Also transferred from that division are Mickleover, who Stratford first face away on Saturday, 19th November, with the reverse fixture taking place at the Arden Garages Stadium on Saturday, 8th April.
Newly-promoted from the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands are Ilkeston Town who Stratford visit on Tuesday, 27th September before facing off against each other in the return fixture on Saturday, 4th February.
After taking on Bedford Town on the opening day, the Bards will play the away fixture on Saturday, 10th December.
Final day opponents Basford are in town on Saturday, 5th November.
