Allan Andrews, who served as a councillor in Coventry for 13 years until standing down from his role in 2021, played an integral part in Coventry City's return to the Ricoh Arena (now the Coventry Building Society Arena) as a senior advisor to West Midlands mayor Andy Street during mediation.

Andrews has served as a non-executive director at the Bards since August last year and has extensive experience across local, regional, and European policy-making

He has also held a variety of non-executive directorships including at Whitefriars Housing, part of the WM Housing Group, one of the region’s largest not-for-profit social housing associations.

Andrews is currently a non-executive director at Skyfarer, chair of the advisory board at CareWeShare, a member of the advisory board at the Lloyds Banking Group Centre for Responsible Business and is an associate director at CalComms, a London-based public affairs and communications agency.

Commenting on the appointment, Andrews said: "Stratford Town is a club with huge ambition and a strong sense of community. The work it does with young people in the town, its ambitious plans for the future and the existing team at the club made this opportunity a no-brainer. It is an incredibly exciting appointment and I look forward to working with our external partners to help grow the club."

Chairman Jed McCrory said: "[We] are delighted Alan has joined the Stratford Town FC board of directors and welcome his diversity in business and contacts within the community alongside his strong community beliefs. Allan is a perfect fit in taking this club forward.

"The football club has improved consistently on and of the pitch over the last few years, with the community and councils getting behind the efforts made by the current board and volunteers.

"We welcome board members with strong values and skill sets like Allan who can continue to improve and push the boundaries of this club to support and take forward our commitment to the community."

"Allan is a very approachable and likeable individual who has a welcome quirky humour around the place. From a personal point of view, I am delighted to have Allan on board to bounce ideas off and structure the future of Stratford Town FC."
