Away day woes as Town slump to defeat

Barwell 1, Stratford Town 0

ALL the euphoria from the opening day drubbing of Needham Market was instantly forgotten as Stratford were nullified in a dismal game played on Barwell’s plastic pitch.

The Bards rarely looked like testing the home keeper as they struggled to get to grips with the strong wind in their favour for the opening half and a solid defensive display from their Leicestershire opponents, particularly after Deen Master had handed them the advantage early in the second half.
