AN award given to the most improved junior has been named in memory of former Alcester Town chairman Dave Taylor.
The Alcester Town development squad was formed in 2012 for those in reception, Year 1 and Year 2. Initially there was only a few involved, but soon there were 50 players each week.
Each year the club presented a golden ball award to reward the most improved junior.
This year, after Taylor died at the age of 49 in October, his widow Anne and daughter Charlotte offered to buy a trophy for an annual award at the club.
It was decided, as Taylor was a great believer in this group, the golden ball award would be renamed the Dave Taylor Development Squad Memorial Trophy.
