Alcester B's Beer and Linnett win Junior Cup final

THE Alcester B team of Henry Beer and Ollie Linnett claimed victory over Stratford A in the recent Wildmoor Spa League Junior Cup final at Alcester Tennis Club.

It was a close match and despite Stratford A on paper appearing favourites, Alcester B had defeated them in the play-offs and were brimming with confidence.

First blood went to Alcester B as Beer and Linnett took the set 6-3. Stratford’s duo James Richards and Oliver Murphy hit back to level at 1-1 when they took the second set 6-3.

Games went to the wire before Alcester B broke through to take the set 6-3 and the match two rubbers to one to win the 2018 Junior Cup.
