Alcester bosses enjoy tough decisions
FOOTBALL
MATT Seeley and Richard Briggs will need to make some tough decisions tomorrow in selecting the Alcester Town side to face FC Shush - and they won’t mind one bit.
The Red and Blacks showcased the strength in their squad last weekend by hammering Leamington Hibernian 8-0, despite the absence of four players.
But Reece Hewitt, who was away, Danny Cullen and Craig Carter, who were both ill, and Lewis Cosgrove, who was unavailable, all come into contention for the home clash with FC Shush in the Midland League Division Three.
New signing Ollie Gibson, recruited from Bromsgrove Sporting, will also be ready to make his debut.
Joint-boss Seeley said: “We’ve got a strong squad now - I feel it’s as strong as any squad in the league - and that is what is going to be the key factor.
“There’s plenty of competition for places and even if that means we’ve got some tough decisions I’m happy with that.”
Alcester lie fourth in the Division Three table, five points behind leaders AFC Solihull, but they have games in hand on Central Ajax and Inkberrow above them.
Tom Coles’ Ajax head to Walsall to play fourth from bottom WLV Sport while Inkberrow host AFC Solihull.
