Alcester boss unhappy with early call-off

With the sun shining, Robbins requested a second inspection closer to kick off time, but this request was rejected by the hosts.

Robbins said: “I was very disappointed at Saturday’s postponement.

“The pitch inspection was made before 10am. That’s four hours before we were due to kick off and the sun was beaming down.

“I was more than happy to wait on a decision so we could give the pitch as much time as possible to thaw, but they dismissed the idea.

“I’m bemused as to how easily games are called off in this league.

“It is very frustrating. We are in good form and it has been very stop-start recently.”

Another postponement raises fears of a fixture pile-up at the end of the season and Robbins added: “The way we are heading, we’ll be playing three or four games a week at the end of the season.

“There are always going to be times when nothing can be done, but I’m a firm believer in getting football matches on.”
