EXCITEMENT in Stratford-upon-Avon is growing at the imminent opening of Shakespeare’s New Place as a £6million project to transform the playwright’s final home approaches completion.

Though the exact opening date has yet to be confirmed, the Stratford-upon-Avon Herald was this week treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at what visitors can expect when the doors do finally open.

See our two-page feature with exclusive pictures from inside New Place and interviews with key people involved in the ambitious project.

We also chart the setbacks that it has suffered, largely due to bad weather, and unveil the Greenwood Tree, featuring a leaf dedicated to the Herald and its readers.

The Herald is on sale now - priced just 65p.
