Wootton Wawen home filmed for TV property show
A WOOTTON Wawen home has been the centre of attention in its village this week while being filmed for scenes in a popular TV property show.
A crew from Location, Location, Location, led by co-host Phil Spencer, spent over five hours at the four-bedroom cottage filming yesterday, Monday and plan to return tomorrow, Wednesday to shoot additional scenes.
Mr Spencer took the buyers on a tour of the home during Monday afternoon filming with the buyers until 5pm.
Property owner Jodie Williams said: “They brought the buyers in and filmed their reaction, which was really complimentary.”
"The have a really young family and previously were in the process of buying a house but it fell through and they were heartbroken. They said it was their perfect house. They really want to be in the village. They brought their mother in-law around as well.”
But they had their doubts about a sale to the family, particularly because of the home’s age as it was built in 1588. She thought the low beams in some rooms may lead to some difficulties for the man who was shown the home because he is around 6 foot 3 or 6 foot 4 tall.
But Jodie added: “The feedback from Phil was very positive. He was very complimentary about the house.”
Jodie’s 10-year-old daughter, Ella, was excited to return home from school on Monday afternoon to find Phil Spencer and the TV crew filming there.
Jodie said: “My daughter wants to be a TV presenter. She explained that to the director and she let her shadow her, showing her the different angles. She watches the show and for her to meet Phil and the crew and them to allow her to hold the camera and get behind the scenes access was just brilliant for her."
The show featuring the Williams family home will be the first in a new series of Location Location Location set to air in the autumn.
The property remains for sale and can viewed via Rightmove at the following link: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-64343914.html
Jodie added: “The director said they tend to find the houses featured sell more quickly. Because we’ve got photos of Phil in the house hopefully it should give it a bit of a buzz.”
