Police are appealing for witnesses or information after a man was stabbed in Stratford last week.

Last Wednesday (31 August 2016) at about 2pm, a marked police car was driving on Alcester Road when the officer was alerted to an injured 19-year-old man.

The officer gave immediate medical assistance to the man, who had sustained a stab wound to his left thigh. The Ambulance Service were called and the man was taken to hospital. His injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

Officers are keen to speak to the occupants of a light blue Vauxhall Corsa that was in the area at the time of the incident as well as a cyclist who is thought to have been riding near to the roundabout by Morrisons.

These individuals are asked to get in touch by dialing 101, as they may have information that could help police with their investigation.

Enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident and, in addition to the above individuals, detectives are encouraging other potential witnesses to come forward.

You can provide information by contacting Detective Constable Sarah Jackson on 101, quoting incident number 199 of Wednesday 31 August. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers via their website www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
