WIN comedy night tickets to Stratford ArtsHouse
STRATFORD-UPON-AVON ArtsHouse starts its new Autumn and Winter season this September with a host of big name comedy stars to keep you thoroughly amused as the nights draw in.
This week the Herald has teamed up with Stratford’s very own community arts venue to offer a fabulous prize for readers who can’t resist a bit of a giggle!
Three lucky winners will win a pair of tickets to see three of the best names in comedy, as the ArtsHouse prepares to rock the town with laughter!
Richard Herring kicks off the season on 9th September with Happy Now?, his 12th solo stand-up show.
Now that he’s married with a baby, is he finally happy, or does the responsibility for others’ lives come with its own terrors? Between worrying about his child being skewered by a falling stalactite of urine from an aircraft, and whether too much glee is actually counterproductive for a comedian, Herring unpacks the modern-day obsession with the pursuit of happiness.
Mock the Week regular Sara Pascoe will be at the ArtsHouse on 22nd September with Animal, her investigation into why it is that only humans have evolved to the point of understanding evolution.
Sara Pascoe is a human animal, and so are you. The show is a mixture of completely true stories about Tony Blair, Oedipus Rex and the wildlife of Lewisham, plus a load of stories that don’t sound true at all about Jason Donovan, Henry the Hoover and when God took over the tannoy in Sainsbury’s...
On 30th September, Jeremy Hardy, team captain of Radio 4’s The News Quiz, will be celebrating moving into his fourth decade of stand-up with his inimitable blend of sharp observation, wry wit and deadpan delivery.
Well known for his BBC television credits including QI, Mock The Week, and Grumpy Old Men, importantly, he is still a stand-up comic and had not stopped doing live shows in theatre and arts centres throughout the UK since 1984. After briefly hibernating in the winter, he’s back on the road with the Jeremy Hardy Live 2016 Tour.
For a chance to win a pair of tickets, simply answer the question on page 10 of the Stratford-upon-Avon Herald of Thursday, 18th August.
