Wellesbourne and Ettington plans set for referendum
Ettington and Wellesbourne residents will soon get their say on future development in the area after Stratford District Council approved their neighbourhood development plans to proceed to referendum.
The plans, which outline where future development in the settlements should happen, were approved for referendum at Monday’s Cabinet meeting.
Both plans will go to the public vote on October 11 and if voters decide to adopt the plans, they will be consulted every time a planning application involving the areas are submitted.
In Ettington the polling station will be at The Lounge, The Community Centre on Rogers Lane, and in Wellesbourne voting will take place at Wellesbourne Village Hall on School Road.
Residents can vote between 7am-10pm at both polling stations and residents can check their eligibility to vote or register by calling Electoral Services at Stratford District Council on 01789 260208.
At Monday’s meeting the Shotteswell Parish Plan was also formally adopted by the district council, having recently been approved at referendum.
Cllr Daren Pemberton, Planning and Building Services Portfolio says: “I congratulate Shotteswell Parish Council and their Parish Plan team for all their hard work in producing an excellent parish plan. The Shotteswell Parish Plan will provide a source of local information and the associated Action Plan, addresses the needs and aspirations of the community.”
