Welford residents vote to adopt neighbourhood plan

Welford residents have given a resounding thumbs up to the village’s neighbourhood plan, following a conclusive referendum result yesterday.
Turnout at yesterday’s referendum was 39.86% with 86.9% of voters in favour of adopting the plan.
Overall 513 residents voted, with just 67 (13.08%) voting against adopting the plan.
The neighbourhood plan, the fifth in the district to reach the referendum stage, will now be adopted and used to inform planning decisions affecting the parish.
