Wear it Pink event raises £4,500 for charity

The Alscot Estate held its tenth Wear it Pink event in support of the charity Breast Cancer Now earlier this month, raising around £4,500.

Hosted by Emma Holman-West at the Bell Inn at Alderminster, the event included coffee and cakes donated by locals, an array of local independent stallholders and a well-supported tombola, generously stocked with donated prizes.

During the evening live music was provided by Cheshire Brookes unplugged, while the pub also held an auction, with one of the top prizes, a child’s Range Rover Sport, selling for £350.

Getting into the spirit of things, Tina Craven and Sean Tiernan from the Bell Inn took on the Sour Hour challenge, which involves nominees eating a whole peeled lemon and posting their video on Facebook.

Participants then nominate a handful of Facebook friends for the challenge and make a donation via a Just Giving Page to Breast Cancer Now.

During the past 10 years the event, organised by the Alscot estate has raised in excess of £23,000 for Breast Cancer Now.
