Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action win Warwickshire Third Sector Support Contract
Warwickshire County Council has awarded Warwickshire CAVA (Community & Voluntary Action) a contract to provide a countywide Third Sector Support service that will help community and voluntary organisations across the county to attract funding, recruit volunteers and receive training.
It follows a competitive tendering process last year, with the new contract combining all of the elements of support which Warwickshire CAVA has developed and delivered within the county since it was formed through the merger of Councils for Voluntary Service organisations and Volunteer Centres in 2008.
The contract means that Warwickshire CAVA will be committed to increasing the influence and capacity of Warwickshire’s Third Sector and will be the voice of the sector in the county, while ensuring that Warwickshire’s Volunteer Economy is supported, strengthened and diversified, for example, by encouraging more volunteer placements from the private sector.
Another key outcome of the contract will be to ensure that the county’s Third Sector services and volunteers respond to needs at an early stage, to help reduce reliance on Public Sector services. Ultimately, the aim is that the county’s Third Sector thrives through its diversity, skills and ambitions.
