AN eagle with a 7ft wingspan that went missing from Warwick Castle earlier this week has been found.

Nikita, the white stellar sea eagle, disappeared after completing the 12.30pm bird of prey show on Tuesday.

But she was found in Hill Wootton, just a few miles from the castle, at 11am on Thursday morning.

Nikita has been at Warwick Castle since 2004 and although she has wandered away once before, she normally returns within ten to 15 minutes.

The castle's birds of prey handler, Chris O’Donnell, said when she went missing that she was most likely to be seen sitting in an open field and that she posed no risk to animals or the public.
