William Clemmey of Municipal Charities said:

“We are so grateful for the grant and we are using it to support the running of our warm hub in Stratford. We will be offering a range of craft sessions and visits to other warm hubs plus the usual coffee, tea and refreshments. We have bought 350 warm packs to distribute to those facing the cold and we will draught proof our 46 almshouses to ensure residents stay warm this winter.”

The 350 warm packs include socks, a fleece scarf and blanket, a pair of thermal gloves and hat, a travel mug and hot water bottle. These - together with a bottle of vitamin D tablets - are being distributed to those in need via warm hubs and Foodbanks in Stratford, Bidford and Salford Priors and through Escape Arts and Stratford Baby Bank.

The warm hub is open from 11am to 12 midday on a Tuesday at 14, Guild Street, Stratford and everyone is welcome to participate in the craft sessions and other activities and have free tea, coffee and biscuits.
