Walkers asked to help find stolen narrowboat which was heading for Stratford
A NARROWBOAT, stolen from Wilmcote in the past week, is thought to have been heading towards Stratford.
Warwickshire Police’s rural crime team has appealed for help tracing the boat, asking dog walkers to keep a lookout and help return “this pride and joy to its owner”.
The narrowboat, stolen between 8th November and 13th November, is red and black with a red and cream roof.
“The direction of travel is believed to have been towards Stratford,” Warwickshire Police said. “The narrowboat was undergoing slight exterior works, which means the name on the side had been temporarily removed, so the boat will not be identifiable by means of name, however the markings and rework pattern are unique.”
The Canal and River Trust has been made aware of the theft and is working with police to help track down the boat.
The force added: “If you are out on a walk of a local canal and see this boat please ring 101 quoting 23/48472/24, with an exact location, preferably with a what 3 Words location, so that we can attend to identify the boat and conduct the relevant checks and investigation.”
